Setting up Google Mail the right way [iOS]

Your Google account Mail, Contacts and Calendars syncs very easily to your iPhone or iPad. Here I will show you how to set it all up.

To set up your Google Contacts and Calendar, please read this post with specific instructions. To set up your Google Mail, please continue reading below.

I will start by saying that using the Apple Mail app for Gmail really, really sucks. So instead of using the standard Apple Mail app, I recommend you download and install the Gmail app. Here's how you do that...

Setup

Start by opening the App Store on your iOS device and searching for the free "Gmail" app.

Usage

After the app is installed, open it. You will be asked for your current Gmail login credentials. Sign in and you are ready to go! It's that simple.

Clicking on the icon with the three small bars on the top-left brings up your menu.

Here you will find your settings, folders, and can even add more Google accounts if you happen to have more than one.

The Gmail app is without a doubt the very best way to access your Google Email. So start using it today!

Please note, some of you might want to setup the native mail app. In that case, here are my instructions for that.
